New Shareholders at Manage Group!

I started this business in January 2011 as The ACC Guys and at that point, I was the only one specialising in ACC Risk Management for employers in NZ. That sounds like an odd idea really given employers have been paying ACC for decades.

Over the last 10 years I made some good decisions and some silly ones… as you do. Most of you will be familiar with having the right people on the bus in the right seat…. meaning you need the right people in the company and in the right roles. This can take some time to perfect.

As the 10 years evolved we changed our name to ManageACC and evolved to include more brands like ManageCLAIMS, ManageOSH, ManageRISK and ManageBC.

Given the diversification we became Manage Group, a company that specialises in managing Government Compliance risk especially with ACC and Worksafe.

In 2018, Sue Walton joined us to look after our ManageACC division. Sue came from ACC and fair to say with Sue’s talents her role evolved to morph into that of General Manager.

In 2019, John Gould joined us to look after our ManageOSH division. One of our fastest growing divisions and under John’s watchful eye has gone from strength to strength. John’s experience in the wider trade sector, labour hire, manufacture, transport and engineering, places him well to work within our specialist sectors.

Both Sue and John have been heavily involved in our strategy and governance and are an integral part of our fabric. With that in mind and our own succession planning, it was a no-brainer to offer both a shareholding in the company.

So, as of 1 April 2021, I warmly welcome both Sue Walton and John Gould onboard as fellow shareholders.
