TBI Health & Manage Group Partnership

Musculoskeletal Partnership a Winner

Manage Group, specialists in ACC Risk Management and TBI Health, one of the largest Allied Health firms in NZ have partnered up to change the way Sprains, Strains and other Claims are being managed.

  • Manage Group have introduced a 5-step way of managing your Sprains, Strains and other Claims giving the employer a direct return on investment.

  • With national reach and a Telehealth service, every business and their workers can access support.

  • With the aim of prevention, both ACC Claims, and the employers’ actual data is used to determine trends, issues, and solutions.

Statistically blue-collar industries have over 70% soft tissue injuries.  ACC and employer data indicates that these injuries, once they become an ACC claim, incur on average over 70 days off work.

“Sprains & strains are not well managed in NZ as shown by the excessive levels of penalties employers have on their ACC levies.  This area is not well understood, and our aim is to educate and show employers the return on investment they can create by focusing on smart claims management” Sue Walton, GM – Manage Group.

Understanding the data is only part of it.  Timely and relevant medical help is a must, and this does not need to be through a doctor.  For a lot of claims, medical certificates are not actually needed, rather, workers can be back at full capacity within the first week.

TBI Health provide a fantastic national network of physios and other Allied Health staff.  The team understands that it is equally about the employee and the employer – both need to be respected when it comes to effective return-to-work planning.

“Good claim management is all about providing the right solution at the right time. This is what both TBI Health and Manage Group specialise in.”  Rachel Lilley, National Vocational Services Manager – TBI Health.

This new partnership is such a big win for industry.  Employers who have 5 or more employees will really benefit from this service.  Upper end of employers… the largest client to date has more than 700 workers.  There is no upper limit including those who participate in the ACC Accredited Employer Scheme.

Manage Group revolutionised the way employers are represented with ACC.  With the introduction of ACC Brokering in 2011, the group is now made up of five divisions (ACC Brokering, Claim Management, Health & Safety, Business Continuity Planning, and Insurance Brokering).  The one thing that has and will continue to be consistent is their mantra – ensuring employers are treated fairly and equitably in the Government compliance space.
